Instagram debuted an Android version of its app on April 3, 2012, and it was downloaded more than one million times in less than a day.  Since then, the Android app has gotten two major updates: the first in March 2014, which reduced the program’s download size by half and improved performance; and the second in April 2017, which enabled an offline mode that allows users to see content when offline.
