In the German-speaking press, he is known as the “Pop-Titan,” having originally gained success as a member of the pop group Modern Talking in the 1980s, and has subsequently produced a slew of German and international singers. He has also served as a judge on the casting series Deutschland sucht den Superstar and Das Supertalent, appearing on all seasons of both.

Königsberg is where his maternal grandmother was born. Dieter Günter Bohlen was his first name, but he later changed it to Dieter Günter Bohlen after expressing unhappiness with his middle name.  He has a younger sibling who goes by the name of Uwe. Later, the family relocated to Eversten (Oldenburg). Bohlen was a member of the Socialist German Workers Youth and then the German Communist Organization in his youth, though he is no longer a member of either party.

At his parents’ insistence, he studied business administration at the Georg-August-Universität, graduating with a degree in 1978.Bohlen began writing music while still in school. He worked as a lyricist for a number of Schlager artists at the Hamburg-based label Intersong in the late 1970s. In 1978, he and Holger Garbode formed the short-lived Monza duet. Bohlen’s first single, “Hello Taxi Nummer 10,” written and produced by Tony Hendrik, was a commercial failure. Monza followed up with “Heiße Nacht in der City,” a German-language copy of Nick Gilder’s “Hot Child in the City,” which was likewise a flop. He started working for the Berlin-based label Hansa in 1980. In the same year, he released “Don’t Throw My Love Away,” a solo single in English under the pseudonym Steve Benson.

In 1981, two further songs under that name were released: “Love Takes Time” and “(You’re A Devil With) Angel Blue Eyes.” Because none of them cracked the top 100, the project was shelved in 1981. Soon after, he joined the band Sunday, with whom he sang “Halé, hey Louise” on the ZDF-Hitparade in early 1982. Ricky King was one of the performers who covered the song. In 1983, Bohlen penned the song “Mit 17” for Bernd Clüver, which finished third in the German Eurovision Song Contest pre-selection.From 1982 to 1984, Bohlen and Thomas Anders formed the pop group Modern Talking after producing six failed songs in German for Schlager singer Thomas Anders.

The band disbanded in 1987, and Bohlen launched his solo project Blue System, which lasted ten years. He also proceeded to write and produce for other musicians, including C. C. Catch (whom he found), Sheree(whom he signed at the age of fifteen), and the boy band Touché.

In 1986, Bohlen wrote the title song for the Tatort episode Der Tausch [de], “Midnight Lady,” which was performed by former Smokie singer Chris Norman and became a significant hit in Central Europe, topping numerous charts.

Norman’s second solo album, Some Hearts Are Diamonds, was produced by Bohlen and featured the song. In 1988, he wrote “Silent Water,” the title song for the Tatort episode Moltke [de], which he performed as Blue System. In 1989, he sent two songs to the Eurovision Song Contest: Nino de Angelo represented Germany with the song “Flieger,” which placed 14th, and Thomas Forstner represented Austria with the song “Nur ein Lied,” which placed fifth. Bohlen also composed the soundtrack for the ZDF series Rivalen der Rennbahn in 1989, which was awarded platinum in Germany that year and charted in the top five in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Bohlen produced Roy Black’s final album, Rosenzeit, in 1991.”Bitterblue,” “Against the Wind,” and “Fools Lullaby” were all hit singles from the collaboration, as were “Bitterblue” and “Against the Wind” (which was used as the title song for the Tatort episode Der Fall Schimanski [de]). Another Bohlen composition competed in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1992, representing Austria. Tony Wegas performed “Zusammen geh’n,” which came in at number ten. Modern Talking reformed in 1998, releasing singles such as “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul ’98,” “You Are Not Alone,” and Formula One anthems “Win the Race” and “Ready.

In 2003, Bohlen (left) and Thomas Anders (right) performed as Modern Talking.

In 2002, Bohlen was one of the judges on Deutschland sucht den Superstar (commonly abbreviated as DSDS), the German counterpart of Pop Idol and American Idol. He has been a judge every season, despite the fact that the other judges are rotated on a regular basis. He’s responsible with the majority of the winners, including hits like “We Have a Dream.” In the same year, he published his first book, Nichts als die Wahrheit, an autobiography co-written with Bild writer Katja Kessler, which went on to sell over a million copies in Germany and earned him a Goldene Feder.

It was panned for being unjust, and Thomas Anders, his former bandmate, filed accusations. In response, Frank Farian wrote Stupid This Bohlen: Die Wahrheit und nichts als die Wahrheit über dem Pop-Hochstapler, in which he attempted to expose Bohlen as a con artist. [15] Nichts als die Wahrheit and Hinter den Kulissen were also made into audiobooks, which Bohlen read. He won the ECHO for Producer of the Year in 2004, and the ECHO for Rock/Pop Single of the Year for “We Have a Dream” in 2005. (National). In 2006, Bohlen performed in Moscow.

Dieter Bohlen Biography/Wiki

BIOGRAPHY:

Dieter: Der Film, a satirical cartoon film based on Nichts als die Wahrheit, debuted in March 2006. Bohlen did not play himself; instead, he played the narrator. He composed and produced the entire soundtrack for the film, which including the previously unreleased Modern Talking song “Shooting Star.” Later that year, he produced the song “Be My Boyfriend” for the pair Indiggo, which finished ninth in the Romanian Eurovision Song Contest 2006 pre-selection. Meine Hammer-Sprüche, his third novel, was published in 2006.

Bohlen was one of the judges on the German version of the Got Talent franchise, Das Supertalent, which premiered in 2007. The fellow judges in Deutschland sucht den Superstar are rotated on a regular basis, although he has been a judge every season. In 2008, he released two more books: Nur die Harten kommen in den Garten! and Nur die Harten kommen in den Garten! Der Bohlenweg and Der Weg zum Superstar: Planing vs. Sanitation

Andrea Berg, a Schlager singer, began collaborating with Bohlen in 2010. He produced all of her albums (Schwerelos,Abenteuer,Atlantis, and Seelenbeben), and they all charted at the top in Germany and Austria. On March 17, 2018, he ended their collaboration by email.  On April 3, 2019, Bohlen and Berg revealed that they would collaborate on two new tracks.

Simple, well-structured pieces are a hallmark of Bohlen’s work. He produced Euro disco and Eurodance songs for Modern Talking, Blue System, and C. C. Catch with falsetto choruses in the 1980s and 1990s, often in the studio with Spanish producer Luis Rodrguez. Session vocalists including Rolf Köhler, Michael Scholz, and Detlef Wiedeke were used to create those choruses. [23] With the winners of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, Bohlen favours pop ballads. Bohlen “stole” multiple songs, according to Berlin copyright expert Paul Hertin, and so violated copyright. According to Hertin, Bohlen incorporated the tune from Babyface’s “What If” in the making of Yvonne Catterfeld’s “Für dich.” [24] The Berlin prosecutor’s office launched a preliminary investigation into Bohlen based on Hertin’s expert assessment of the plagiarism charges, which was later discontinued. Since the show’s inception in 2002, Bohlen has been a contestant on Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the German equivalent of Pop Idol and American Idol. In the German-speaking press, he has been compared to Simon Cowell because of his candid and provocative statements regarding contestants and their singing ability .

Each season, he gets 1.2 million euros. He’s collaborated with the most of the winners and, on rare occasions, with other contestants, such as first-season third-place finisher Daniel Küblböck, to produce a number of huge successes. Bohlen has also been a judge on Das Supertalent, the German version of the Got Talent series, since its inception in 2007, and is the only judge to have been on every season. Müller Milch, Makro Markt, S.Oliver, O2, Roller (Möbelhaus), Wiesenhof, the Deutsche Bahn, and Unilever are just a few of the corporations that have signed advertising arrangements with Bohlen. He has been a long-time Camp David advertising partner. He had been the face of Camp David for ten years by 2020. Bohlen authored five books between 2002 and 2008, ranging from autobiography to advice books. Provocation was his first fragrance, which he introduced in 2005. With Felix Werner, he launched the clothing label “Needs Clothing” in 2011. He released a range of wallpapers through P+S in 2013.

His Stylist gives him the wind-battered hair during the flight. Breakfast was served by the flight attendant. Dieter Bohlen is currently en route to Zurich. Thanks to Instagram, we now know. The 65-year-old inundated social media with photos and videos.

In the hallway, we hear his voice. Dieter Bohlen walks into his office at Zurich’s Glattpark. Hair that has been bleached, black sunglasses, and oversized sweatshirts. Only a brand ambassador with a lot of money can wear this neon green Sweater with the Good-Life-Feeling-print. Camp David is a mischievous fashion trend for males over the age of 50.

He then introduces himself and asks if he should remove his sunglasses for the photographs, darling. Please accept my request. A discrepancy was detected by the Stylist. Before the interview can begin, the two men exit the room.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am an extremely pleasant individual. However, because of the TV show “American idol” (“Deutschland sucht den Superstar”), I am a little harsher on the candidates, and people assume I am a private as well. Write to me frequently; why are you so lovely on Instagram but so cruel in the shipment? So I don’t believe I’m a bad guy. I want to tell the truth to the people. The music industry is as tough as a rock. It’s not a business where you give each other a bit of cotton wool to play with.  If it falls apart, if one of them says, “You’re a bottle,” you have no choice but to look in the business.
