Samantha Barks was born and raised on the Isle of Man near Laxe. She attended Laxey Primary School and St Ninian’s High School in Douglas before traveling to London to study A levels at Chiswick’s The Arts Educational Schools (ArtsEd). Barks began dancing at the age of three, first with Dancers Barre and later with Stagecoach Isle of Man, Theatrix, Stage One Drama School, and the Manx Ballet Company.
