RAMI SEBIE (ring name Sami Zayn) is a Canadian professional wrestler who has wrestled for a number of different wrestling organizations over the course of his professional wrestling career. A contract with the World Wrestling Federation (WWE) has been signed by him, and he is currently representing the promotion in the ‘RAW’ division under the ring name ‘Sami Zayn.’

In 2002, he made his professional wrestling debut with the International Wrestling Syndicate (IWS) and went on to fight for a number of different wrestling organizations before signing on with WWE in 2013. His first professional wrestling experience was with El Generico on the indie circuit, where he competed for a year. He performed with a mask on and went by the catchphrase “Olé!” during his performances.

The ‘Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG)’ is a professional wrestling organization that has produced two world championships and five PWG world tag team championships. As a result, he became the first and only person in history to win both of the PWG’s annual tournaments – the ‘Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team Title Tournament’ in 2010 and the ‘Battle of Los Angeles’ in 2011 – making him the first and only person in history to accomplish this feat.

When he was with the International Wrestling Syndicate (IWS), he won the IWS World Heavyweight Championship on two separate occasions. When he was with Ring of Honor, he won the ROH Tag Team Championship and the ROH World Television Championship, among other titles (ROH). The NXT Championship and the Slammy Award have both been awarded to him once in his time in the WWE, where he does not work with a mask.

When Rami Sebei was born on July 12, 1984, near Laval, Quebec, Canada, he was the product of a Syrian Muslim family that had immigrated to Canada from Syria in the 1970s. Rami Sebei was born and raised in Laval, Quebec, and attended Laval University. He is fluent in a number of languages, including Arabic, English, and French, among others.

Wrestlers such as Patty the Kid, Savio Vega, and Jerry Tuite were among those who helped him learn the ropes. As part of the ‘Scarred For Life’ event series, Rami Sebei made his professional wrestling debut on July 14, 2002, in the role of “The Generic Luchador” El Generico for the Montreal-based professional wrestling promotion ‘International Wrestling Syndicate (IWS),’ as “The Generic Luchador.” During the IWS’s 5th anniversary show, called “V,” on June 15, 2004, he defeated PCO to win his first IWS World Heavyweight Championship title and his first IWS World Heavyweight Championship title.

Later in the same year, on February 16, 2008, he captured his second title at ‘Violent Valentine,’ defeating fellow wrestler Kevin Steen in the process (presently performing in Raw brand of WWE under the ring name Kevin Owens). After performing for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) during the first year of the IWS’s tour of the United States, Sebei grabbed the attention of the American independent professional wrestling company. Sebei has since become a regular performer for the promotion.

His accomplishments with the organization include two PWG World Championships and five PWG World Tag Team Championships, among other titles (Human Tornado on August 6, 2005; Quicksilver on December 2, 2006; Kevin Steen on July 29, 2007, and March 21, 2008; and Paul London on May 9, 2010). Throughout his wrestling career, he established himself as the only man in the history of the company to hold both the World and World Tag Team championships at the same time, twice in a row.

After eight Battle of Los Angeles (BOLA) tournaments hosted by the Professional Wrestling Guild (PWG) since 2005, he has established himself as the only wrestler to have competed in every one of them. His victory over Steen on August 20, 2011, gave him his first BOLA championship. “The Peligro Abejas!” were the victorious tag team in the Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team Title Tournament, which he shared with Paul London, which took place on May 9, 2010. With this triumph, he became the first and only person in history to win both of the PWG’s annual tournaments in the same season.

Sami Zayn Biography/WikiBIOGRAPHY:

He also worked for several different wrestling outfits, collecting a lot of victories along the way, including wrestling for Chikara and winning the 2011 Rey de Voladores. He has worked for the professional wrestling organization Ring of Honor (ROH), where he and Kevin Steen won the ROH World Tag Team Championship on September 19, 2008, and the ROH World Television Championship on June 26, 2011. Since 2005, he has made an increasing number of professional wrestling appearances for the German professional wrestling brand ‘Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw).’

On March 4, 2012, he won the 16 Carat Gold Tournament, and on May 19, 2012, he won the wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship, both of which occurred during his stay with the World Extreme Championship Wrestling. Additionally, his professional wrestling career has taken him to Japan, where he competed for the Japanese professional wrestling banner known as “Dragon Gate” (DG). In professional wrestling contests for the Tokyo-based promotion ‘DDT Pro-Wrestling,’ he made appearances beginning in early 2011 and lasting through 2012.

On September 19, 2011, he won his first Japanese championship, the ‘DDT Extreme Division Championship,’ which marked his professional debut. Sebei’s notable accomplishments with DDT include winning the promotion’s highest title, the KO-D Openweight Championship, on September 30, 2012, and being named the Best Foreigner of the Year for the same year. Within a year of his debut, he was hired to compete for the American professional wrestling promotion, ‘Dragon Gate USA (DGUSA),’ which was an international expansion of the Japanese promotion Dragon Gate. In his final appearance in the PWG, he made his way to the WWE the following month, and he inked a contract with them the following month.

It was on the 13th of February in 2013 that he made his professional wrestling debut with one of the company’s developmental brands, ‘NXT.’ However, he did not compete on that particular day. ‘NXT’ promoted him to the company’s developmental roster on March 7, 2013, and he made his professional wrestling debut at a live show in Tampa, Florida, where he wrestled unmasked and under his real name. The moniker ‘Sami Zayn’ was given to him by his professional wrestling promoters when he made his professional wrestling debut.

Seth Rollins made his professional wrestling television debut on the NXT brand’s May 22, 2013, show, which was broadcast globally. The following day, on September 6, 2013, he made his professional wrestling debut at a home show in Montreal. During the 2014 ‘Slammy Awards,’ he was honored with the ‘NXT Superstar of the Year’ award, which was given to him on December 8, 2013.

During the following month, on December 11, 2014, he competed for the NXT Championship against another wrestler who had previously vowed to leave the business if Sebei lost. After facing off against NXT TakeOver: R Evolution live special event champion Adrian Neville in Winter Park, Florida, he won by unanimous decision. In the ninth draught, which took place on July 19, 2016, he was selected by the WWE, and he was then traded to ‘SmackDown’ on April 11, 2017, as part of the Superstar Shake-up, where he has remained ever since.

Since then, he has returned to Raw. When Sebei made his first appearance as a heel on October 8, 2017, at the ‘Hell in a Cell’ event, he made history as the first wrestler in history to do so. It was because of his assistance in Kevin Owens’ victory over Shane McMahon in a ‘Falls Count Anywhere match that he became entangled in a feud with McMahon. In an interview with ‘SmackDown Live’ on October 10, when asked to clarify his actions, Sebei remarked that, despite the fact that the organization is billed as the “Land of Opportunity,” Vince McMahon has failed to present him with opportunities.

‘SmackDown’ General Manager Daniel Bryan fired Sebei and Owens the following week on the brand’s March 20, 2018 show, claiming that they had attacked Vince McMahon the week before. Bryan and McMahon wrestled against Sebei and Owens at ‘WrestleMania 34,’ which took place on April 8, 2018, with the caveat that if they won, Sebei and Owens would be rehired to SmackDown Live. However, Bryan and McMahon emerged victorious in the match.

Following a lengthy period of free agency, Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon confirmed on the April 16, 2018 episode of the Raw brand that Sebei and Owens have signed contracts with the company. In video games, Sebei’s persona has made cameo appearances in a variety of titles, including the WWE 2K series (WWE 2K15, WWE 2K16, and WWE 2K17), among others. Every time the Edmonton-based professional ice hockey club, the ‘Edmonton Oilers,’ won a game on home ice during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the WWE entrance song of Sebei was played.
