Huntsman rose to prominence as a host on MSNBC and NBC News after being the daughter of former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. and Mary Kaye Huntsman. She went on to work for Fox News Channel as a general assignment correspondent and subsequently as a co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend. From September 2018 to January 2020, Huntsman co-hosted the ABC chat show The View. She was born and raised in Utah, but spent much of her adult life in Asia, notably Taiwan and Singapore.

Huntsman graduated from East High School and spent her freshman year of college at the University of Utah, while her father was running for governor. She went on to the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and communications in 2008.

Huntsman began working behind the scenes at Good Morning America when he was 16 years old. She despised it so much, she admitted, that she considered giving up television “forever.” Huntsman interned for Diane Sawyer while at the University of Pennsylvania. Huntsman was so taken with Sawyer’s portrayal of herself and manner of delivering news that she subsequently said, “I always think of her as someone I hope I can aim to be like.”

She later worked for HuffPost Live, the Huffington Post’s streaming network, as a host and producer. She had also been on CNN several times. Huntsman served as a media advisor and surrogate for her father’s 2012 presidential campaign, during which she and her sisters were profiled by The New Yorker, GQ,and BuzzFeed.  Huntsman appeared on ABC News in Washington, D.C. and Good Morning America in New York City as a political pundit at the same time.

Huntsman was profiled in ABC News’ “Five Questions,” a segment of This Week with George Stephanopoulos, in October 2012. She previously worked for Burson-Marsteller, an international public relations agency.  She was ranked number 26 on the Forbes 30 under 30 list of up-and-coming journalists in 2013.

Huntsman joined MSNBC’s The Cycle in July 2013, filling a space left by S.E. Cupp’s departure. After Ari Melber, Huntsman was the show’s second replacement host. She aimed to bring conservative perspectives to the show, denying that her ties to the Huntsman family had anything to do with her getting the job, claiming that she “went through the same audition procedure as anyone else” against a field of hundreds of applicants. The Cycle was cancelled by MSNBC in July 2015, and Huntsman left the network as a result. Huntsman joined Fox News Channel as a general assignment reporter in October 2015.

She reported on the day’s events on the network’s daytime and primetime shows. In December 2016, she was announced as the new co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend. On August 12, 2018, she made her farewell appearance as a co-host of the show.

Huntsman subsequently joined Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Meghan McCain on the long-running ABC chat show The View as a co-host, commencing on the 22nd-season premiere on September 4, 2018.

Huntsman announced her departure from The View after two seasons in January 2020 to become a senior advisor to her father’s 2020 Utah gubernatorial election campaign; she made her farewell appearance as a co-host on the January 17 edition. Her father lost the Republican governor primary in Utah in 2020.

In 2010, Huntsman married her college sweetheart, Jeffrey Bruce Livingston. There are three children in the family: two daughters and a son.Greenwich, Connecticut is where the family resides. She has left The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is no longer an active member. In early 2013, Huntsman, Margaret Hoover, and her former View co-host Meghan McCain made an ad supporting homosexual marriage.

Abby Huntsman departed “The View” just over a year ago and says she has no regrets.

Huntsman said in an interview with People published Friday that leaving was a gut choice, and that while people were astonished she was departing a “dream position in television,” it wasn’t the perfect job she had hoped for.mental health, my happiness, and my family.”In January 2020, the former MSNBC anchor announced her retirement from the daytime talk show to assist her father Jon Huntsman Jr. in his campaign for governor of Utah. Her resignation was also timed to coincide with rumours of a spat between her and co-host Meghan McCain.

Abby Huntsman Biography/Wiki

BIOGRAPHY:

The world will come to a halt a few months after she left “The View” owing to the coronavirus epidemic. The family became ill after packing and relocating to Utah to assist her father in his gubernatorial campaign for what Huntsman and her family thought would be a two-week stay. COVID-19 was diagnosed in Huntsman, her parents, and her three children, and her husband was hospitalised as a result.

“To be quite honest, there was a time when I didn’t believe I’d be able to get through,” Huntsman said, adding that she felt “helpless” and “overwhelmed.”

Huntsman is now ready to return to the media. She’s planning to launch a podcast with her friend Lauren Leeds later this year, and she says it’ll be about “real life ups and downs and important chapters in life, like losing someone you love, getting married, having kids, getting divorced, and becoming grandparents.”
Today’s Good Things in Utah – Abby Huntsman talks to us for the first time since leaving The View on Friday. Join us as we discuss current events with her, including the Utah child who is garnering national notice for his efforts to aid the homeless. Is it true that Americans are overly concerned with their children’s upbringing? Yes, according to a new book. And Jessica Simpson is spilling the beans in a new biography about her tumultuous adolescence.

Abby Huntsman, a former Good Things Utah intern and co-host of The View, is returning to Utah.Last Friday, Huntsman announced her departure from The View, and she believes it was the right decision. “Like any profession, there are some difficult days, and this was a difficult job to have,” Huntsman said. “But there were also some amazing days, and I’ll have some great memories.” Huntsman will now assist her father in his campaign for governor of Utah. He ran for governor of Utah the last time she was a senior in high school. This time, though, it will be a unique experience for both of them. Huntsman is looking forward to bringing her family back to Utah, where they haven’t spent much time, and assisting her father during the forthcoming election season. McCain had been feeling lonely on “The View” for months and had considered leaving the talk programme over the summer.

She only has good things to say about her “‘One of the people, a McCain confidante,’ said another. An ABC spokesman said in a statement to CNN Business on Monday, “At ‘The View,’ we have an amazing panel of brilliant, dynamic women who bring a lot of passion .They can debate both sides hard on difficult matters, then agree to disagree and return to the table for the next hot topic.” “There has always been a curiosity in the behind-the-scenes at the show since the show began,” the ABC representative continued, “but they do a difficult job by going out there every day to voice their ideas and beliefs on live television.” The casting issues are crucial not only to the show, but also to ABC, which relies on solid franchises like “The View” in a time when the broadcast television industry is in flux. “The View” has a daily audience of roughly 2.5 million viewers, making it one of America’s top five daytime talk shows. Huntsman hinted that he would return to “The View” in the future. “Life is funny like that,” she explained.

Abby Huntsman, who has co-hosted “The View” since 2018, announced her departure from the ABC daytime talk show on Monday. Huntsman’s departure came after she expressed dissatisfaction with the show’s ethos and recent disagreements with co-host Meghan McCain.
“This is always such a difficult thing to accomplish,” Huntsman stated at the beginning of Monday’s programme. “And, in particular, this table, because it is truly unique. The most famous show on television, in my opinion, as well as the sharpest women I’ve ever worked with. But today is my last day.”Huntsman, whose last day will be Friday, said she wants to get involved in her father’s gubernatorial campaign. Jon Huntsman, the former governor of Utah, declared last November that he will compete for the position again in 2020.

But there was more to her stunning declaration behind the scenes. A poisonous work atmosphere was detailed by a half-dozen persons who spoke to CNN Business, including a strained relationship between Huntsman and McCain. Huntsman’s decision to quit was influenced by a number of factors, including her disagreement with McCain.

McCain and Huntsman both refused to comment.Huntsman and McCain, who both come from well-known Republican families, were allies behind the scenes until recently, when the two ladies got into a spat, according to persons familiar with the situation.

According to the sources, the quarrel stemmed from Huntsman’s on-air support for her children. McCain, who wrote an op-ed in The New York Times last summer about her miscarriage and has continued to speak publicly about her fertility struggles, told Huntsman that the child-centered discussions were inappropriate.
McCain scolded Huntsman after one episode for bringing up her children on the show. The “baby fight,” as one person described it, immediately travelled around “The View,” straining the two women’s friendship.

“Abby was tired of Meghan berating her for imagined slights,” one source added.According to three sources, Huntsman and McCain have now made amends over their disagreement. Last week, Huntsman visited with Barbara Fedida, ABC News’ senior vice president of talent, to advise her that she had decided to leave the show. Huntsman brought up what she regarded as the generally poisonous work climate at “The View” during the discussion, which she has done before, according to three people familiar with the situation. The View’s stress-inducing workplace is nothing new. For years, the show has had a high-wire culture, with host fights taking out on-air or in the pages of New York City tabloids. In 2019, a book was even published that chronicled some of the behind-the-scenes drama. According to two of the people, Huntsman recently apologised to several of the hosts of “The View” for neglecting her connections with them and not being as engaged as she would have liked. Despite their past disagreements, McCain wished Huntsman “nothing but the best on her upcoming chapter” on Monday. McCain said on Monday’s broadcast, “I believe heading a gubernatorial campaign is a really fine excuse to quit the show,” adding, “We all love you so much.” At the end of Monday’s show, Huntsman and McCain hugged. Abby Huntsman joined “The View” in 2018 and left two years later after allegations of a harsh work environment. “I don’t talk much about that time, and I won’t,” Huntsman said in a candid interview with People.

She stated that she’s been relishing the luxury of not having to “think about the next outrageous comment I have to make about something” every morning. Her decision to leave “The View” was not easy, but it has been one she has not regretted.

“I’ve spent the previous ten years in the news industry, working in a variety of capacities, but it was a decision that I felt strongly about for a long time, much longer than most people realise.” And I remember going out those doors after they told me, ‘No one quits their dream job in television,’ and I said, ‘Well, this isn’t the dream job that I was looking for, in many respects,’” she explained.

“I could hear the birds chirping in the city, in Central Park, when I first walked out those doors, and I looked up in the sky and thoughta mistake, did you handle this or that right?’”

Huntsman’s next project is a podcast she’ll be co-hosting with her friend Lauren Leeds, which will likely debut in the fall. We’ve chatted about the ups and downs of life every time we’ve talked on the phone this year — she’s in L.A., I’m in New York — We just say, ‘How fun would it be for us to get together and do it the way we want to do it, have the conversations we want to have, and really bring out the most intriguing stuff from interesting people?’
