Foy, Claire Elizabeth, was born on April 16, 1984, in Stockport, Greater Manchester. The actress has stated in interviews that her maternal grandparents are from Dublin and Kildare, Ireland and that she has a “significant” quantity of Irish heritage on both sides of her family. She was the last of four kids and split her formative years between Manchester and Leeds. There are three kids in her family, and she’s the youngest.
Her father was offered a sales agent position with Rank Xerox, therefore the family eventually relocated to Longwick, Buckinghamshire.
