LeAnn Rimes Biography/Wiki
BIOGRAPHY:
LeAnn Rimes was reared in Jackson, Mississippi, by her parents, Wilbur Rimes and Belinda Butler. Her parents decided to start her out with singing lessons when she was just 18 months old since she had been showing signs of being able to sing in a high pitch ever since she was that age. When Rimes was six years old, her family made the move from Mississippi to Garland, Texas.
There, she continued her training in singing and dance and had her first performance in front of an audience. She was given the chance to act in a production of “A Christmas Carol” that was held in Dallas. She came to the conclusion that she wanted to pursue a career in country music after her appearance on the network television competition program Star Search.
During this time period, she was also a guest on “Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue” on many occasions. Rimes was already an experienced professional singer at the age of nine as a result of the tremendous media exposure she received. She started singing a cappella version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Dallas Cowboys football games after she became a fan of the team.
She traveled the nation with her father, participating in a variety of musical endeavors, and by 1991, he had begun recording under the independent label ‘Nor Va Jak.’ During this time, she accompanied him on tours around the country. She released three albums under that name up until 1996. Rimes’ meteoric rise to fame in the United States was aided in no little part by Bill Mack, a disc jockey and record promoter based in Dallas. In 1994, she included a recording of Mack’s original work on her independent album titled ‘All That,’ which was titled ‘Blue.’
The year 1996 saw the publication of Rimes’ first studio album, titled “Blue,” which included a re-recording of Mack’s work of the same name. Both the single and the album were huge hits in the United States, with the song peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Country Chart and the album going on to sell four million copies. As a consequence of the popularity of ‘Blue,’ she became the youngest individual in the history of the Grammy Awards to win two awards in the same category.
Additionally, the Country Music Association bestowed upon her their “Horizon Award” for “Best New Artist of the Year,” which she won. Both ‘You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs’ and ‘Unchained Melody: The Early Years’ were published in 1997 and contained more adult contemporary music than country music on their respective playlists. Her debut book, titled “Holiday in Your Heart,” was also published at this time.
It wasn’t until 1998 that Rimes released her adult contemporary and mid-tempo pop music album titled “Sittin’ on the Top of the World.” It made its debut at number two on the list of Top Country Albums and at number three on the Billboard 200, which contributed to an even greater increase in her fame. When it was first released in 1999, LeAnn Rimes was Rimes’ album, and it debuted at number one on the Top Country Albums list, as well as number eight on the Billboard 200 album rankings.
In addition, she participated in the production of the musical “Aida,” in which she sang a duet with Elton John. She made her debut in Hollywood in the year 2000 with the movie “Coyote Ugly,” for which she performed the songs “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” and “But I Do Love You” for the film’s soundtrack. Can’t Fight the Moonlight went on to become a crossover hit in the world of pop music, and as a result, she was presented with a Blockbuster Entertainment Award.
In the year 2001, Rimes released the compilation album titled “I Need You,” which debuted at position number 10 on the Billboard 200. Although it was not much praised by reviewers, the work was economically successful and moved a significant number of copies all over the globe. It was not her father who served as producer for Rime’s first studio album, “Twisted Angel,” which was released in 2002.
This album marked the beginning of Rime’s career as a recording artist. Despite its position at number three on the ranking of Top Country Albums, the album was not well received by critics. In 2003, Rimes became 21 years old, and that same year, her second book, which was also her first book for children, was published.
During the same year, she was in the studio recording the song “We Can” for the soundtrack of the movie “Legally Blonde 2.” Additionally, a compilation of her greatest hits was made available. In 2004, she released a compilation album titled “The Best of LeAnn Rimes” and collaborated with country singer Reba McEntire on an advertisement for Dr. Pepper.
