In 2012, Whittle made the move from British television to American television when he was cast in a recurring role on the VH-1 show Single Ladies. Additionally, in 2014, he was cast in a recurring role on the ABC series Mistresses. In the post-apocalyptic drama The 100, which aired on The CW from 2014 to 2016, Whittle played the role of Lincoln. Whittle now portrays the titular character, Shadow Moon, in the American Gods television series that airs on Starz.
